what was good,sunday?

just before Adrian is pushing me to a snorefest, i have decided to not delay any longer a big pat on our back for doing our very first team effort; to post the photos of our attempt to recreate what we've just done at his/our recent breadmaking class.

some pictures to prove that bread making is a skill Adrian could surely get used to.

my contribution? i was telling him and ordering him about. always has been. (LOL). kidding aside, i was reading the steps and reading the measurements, reminding him not to get mixed up between 2 grams of sugar and 4 grams of salt and not the other way around (which he almost did).

and of course, the better looking shaped ones on the tray are ones i formed.

but dont tell him i said that.

the baking of the rustic rye bread rolls.

L: the overnight proofed bread...R:shaping the rolls on the tray

L: he needs more practice with the shapes...R: ready for baking

L:voila!! fresh from the oven...R: cooling them down

L: the baker looks pleased..R: the baker looks extremely pleased, haha.

white bread is deemed unhealthy in this country, and all of my friends here do not eat white bread. plus, my diabetes doctor said white bread is bad for my sugar levels. brown bread gets the blood sugar going on a steady rate which has good effects.sadly, some people can be allergic to gluten and wheat which is normally present in healthy brown breads..but fear not, we have found some good alternative flour to wheat which is very tasty and very doable too.

i wish to influence my family back home to this brown bread eating phenomenon. rustic rye bread is a very good tasty alternative to the very 'airy' pandesal from home.

and maybe,i could convince some of my friends too.

a bread party is definitely on the cards! :-)xx

Tell Adrian to get his hands dirty - not really dirty, but he needs to roll the dough with his hands. It's funny looking at him try shaping it with utensils. Like kneading, shaping is therapeutic. Happy baking!

hi ate lou, i should have put the title: "no-knead rustic rye bread rolls"...all you need is to mix your ingredients and proof overnight..voila! ready bread, so easy..we had to follow what was taught us too, to shape the rolls using this spoon,hehe..were beginners as you can tell;-)

however, the maltgrain bread will need kneading..thats the one which is really messy;-) we were still waiting for our ordered utensils (scapers and proofing baskets) before we could do it:-)

Adrian doesnt care about his hands dirty, they always are,haha..he is a gardener after all..its me who is averse to sticky things on my nails..:-)

thanks, ate lou;-)
