im on my way to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday party weekend. its going to be at a farmnhouse cottage and all 14 of us are girls and 1 man. the man is one of the birthday girl's closest friend R who has been her "pretend-gay" bestfriend after she broke up with her last partner.
since the bday girl has no partner, it would have been unfair to bring all our husbands and partners on her birthday weekend (who was friends with her ex), so we ditched the husbands and boyfriends, and were going on a singles weekend.
we are booked at a lovely farmhouse cottage in Kent, near a beach, but i dont think the weather would be good for that.
but, whatever the weather you cant bring a good party down. were celebrating this weekend for E, as she's turning 50 today, 7th of May, and wishing her the love she has been longing for and deserves.

we are staying in the cottage for 2 nights 3 days.
my friends are already there as i type but i opted to catch up tonight because i dont want to miss Adrian. I will wait til he comes home from work and we'd have one meal together, at least. (good thing too as my friend Penny-who works in London will hitch a ride with me tonight on the way there, so everyone's a winner, yay!).

when i moved to England, friendships have no age boundaries anymore. its all about common denominators, (love for family and friends, good food, good party, and laughs), and age, fortunately, has no factor on that..just like-mindedness and openness to new ideas and new experiences.
and somehow, i'm thankful that have friends everywhere who never saw me by my age but on what i could bring to the table. (most of the time, its my humor and just pure appreciation of harmless fun company).
and because of this entry, i am reminded to be thankful for friendships.
here in this country or abroad. and the internet.
they are things more precious than gold. and rarer than perfect diamonds.
thank you to you. and you...

that photo was taken in one of my birthday celebrations with my girlfriends..
(in the back): Melanie --shes in Australia now, and Natasha--who has a new man in her life as we speak..
(in the front): some random bloke who joined in on the last minute; Eve--who is turning 50 today and myself, all happy and as usual 'bungisngis"..year 2007.
i wonder what my birthday this year would bring?
how are you celebrating your birthday?

i'm betting on one unforgettably great time, no matter the weather, friends have that kind of power.
funny, but i've been wanting to write about friendship for somedays now, sort of an 'apology' to all friends, old and new, for not being the kind of friend they are to me and that i want to be. =D
