Sunday Morning, awaiting... snow?

It's the second Sunday of the month, and news are circulating about impending big snow in the country.

When i do not doubt the veracity of the weather news, i am also thanking the heavens that we are experiencing a mild ( and even sunny!) weekend. I am sure the rest of the country is having snow at the moment while I am having a nice warm weekend (well, warm in winter standards).

Adrian and i tend not to plan anything for snowy or really cold weather because of the traffic and possible disruptions on the road. Hence, this weekend was supposed to be an indoor weekend. To top it all, it's supposedly a rest from a really emotional weekend we had just last week after his son had an accident (he is far from being critical now, thank you, God).

Quarter of Saturday was spent in my pyjamas and i was eventually persuaded by Adrian to go to the shops to buy food. The night was spent snuggling to watch and catch up on our box sets. (and watching DVDs from friends and family who gave us them as christmas presents).

Today, i sit here in the comfort of our tiny living room, second lot of washing done (i love the whirring sound of the washing machine, don't you?), while i sip my coffee. I wait 'til Adrian wakes up from his beauty sleep for me to start our brunch.

The rest of the afternoon has to wait and see. I'll let the weather decide for me.

from the condensation on the windows, you can tell how cold it is outside.
while it's warm inside the house.

excuse the "sinampays" on the radiators (behind the couch).
we resort to hanging our clothes on warm radiators as we cant hang them outside

pre graduation night

monday early evening, the 16th.

we travelled all the way from norfolk to essex, to stay at a friends' house. the same friends who were coming in to witness my graduation because i already paid for two other tickets for my mom and my sister (who by the way could not make it--ahh,well, plans).

it was nearer to leave from their house to my university, which could take an hour in a good traffic. (because of the olympics traffic however, it took as 15 minutes longer to get to uni the next day).

we arrived expecting just two of my friends in their house, but i wasnt expecting another friend and her partner to be there, too.

it was a happy reunion. one over stories, and food and gifts-- all a surprise to/for me.

when in a rush, make-up has been the normal sacrifice of late.

i couldn't sleep that night. its that feeling of just having had a great night, the buzz of a wonderful evening took a long time to wane, not being in your own bed and the anticipation of an event i would have loved my family to witness but they couldn't.

the next day, i received my degree. with second highest honours while my friends and husband looked on with pride.

medium rare

Adrian and i are quite fond of our meat, especially bloody steaks that is on the rare side.

Last Friday, the 6th, Adrian and i came home really late from my GP appointment and from doing the groceries, so we arrived home after 8pm. The initial plan was a takeaway. But i mentioned to him how a good steak sounded more appetising. One phonecall later to my friend L who has been a Norfolk guide for me, and told me to get on to a restaurant she highly recommends but said it was a miracle to book a table at the time, on the same night on a Friday.

I rang the place by 9pm thinking that the first sitting would have gone by then, and luckily enough i was right, they indeed had a space for two diners.

When we got there at about 20 minutes to 10pm, groups of parties were just coming out merrily from the restaurant.

Pictures of the night.

have a lovely weekend, loves ;-) x

an ikea sunday

yesterday, was a pretty quiet and easy day. when you work (and study) the entire week, a quiet weekend is a great welcome (although depending on one's energy level).

we went to ikea late in the afternoon to buy some transparent boxes for some of my (very old student books) stuff to be put in the loft.

we love ikea for storage boxes. (and their hotdog and donut,LOL).

vanity. mirror. shot.

lovely textile print.

drinks (at their resto)..we had the cheapest snack in the world. £1.80 for a hotdog in a bun, a refillable drink and french fries..and £0.90 for a pair of their cinammonny donut (one of my fave donuts,yeahahaha)..

it is...;-) (they let kids jump up and down the display beds, they let you sit on the furnitures and try it on,and let you touch textiles, rugs, etc..you can easily lose hours and hours being in this place).

and yeah, my family loves it too.

**

do you love ikea,too?

PS. IMHO, ikea is a great place for storage, cupboards ,chest of drawers and bookshelves, but i find their furniture quite flimsy (and low weightbearing). adrian and i tend NOT to buy furnitures (couch and beds) from them because being the heavy weights that we are, we might end up on the floor ;-)
we bought our furnitures from specialist shops which specialize in heavy wearing, long-lasting furniture, LOL.
